Archie Veale
I am an illustrator working in the Baltimore/ Washington D.C. area. I have done major commissions and murals for several institutions including Johns Hopkins. I exhibit regionally, my personal work is part of several private collections and I was formerly represented by the Saint Paul Street Art and Design Gallery. I graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1991 and currently serve as the Visual Arts Department Head at the Baltimore School for the Arts.
My personal work is has been greatly influenced by Expressionism and Symbolism; Baroque painting and a hint of Film Noir thrown in. I work around the central narratives of personal responsibility, the effects of environment and circumstance, and the individual spiritual journey.
